Singles don't just get released one after another before an album drops in stores. Could this mean that the first single did not perform well so the label decided to leak another song to help the sales of Melanie's debut record?
Whatever the reason is "Love Me Now" is a much stronger tune than the first. We can hear her potential and vocal range much better.
