Foto: Getty ImagesRicardo Arjona has been blocked by Televisa due to the singer performing in Arena Ciudad de Mexico. The new venue is owned by Grupo AVALANZ which is a competitor of OCESA where Televisa holds a 40% stake.
The Guatemalan singer offered a series of concerts for his Metamorfosis World Tour in the arena and due to the conflict of interest he will no longer be able to appear in any of Televisa's networks.
A press release was issued with the "Desnuda" singer tackling the subject.
"I always sing where I want and where they want me to. I have nothing to do in another place. It is sad that this (the veto) happens, not because of me, but for the freedom as a universal right of being able to choose," Ricardo said in a statement. "It is not about if they like my music or not. It is about the strategies that are set to continue with this monopolistic syndrome."
