Lupe Fiasco: A rebel through the years
1 / 40
He used to be a gangsta rapper, now he's a conscious rapper. He's the first rapper to write a hit song about skateboarding, "Kick, Push" and he refused to bow down to the demands of his label when they refused to release his album, Lasers, due to it's lack of commercial singles. He's designed Reebok sneakers and his political views are pretty controversial. Lupe Fiasco is more than just another rhymesmith from Chicago, he's a man who cares about the world we live in and isn't afraid to question the powers that be in his lyrics. This way of thinking got him in trouble recently as he was escorted off the stage at an Obama inaugural party for an unrelenting anti-Obama rant that went on for 30 minutes! Take a look at the artist throughout his career.
